Vocational Assessments

"Vocational assessment" is a process that forms a very powerful and affirming part of career counselling and coaching. Not everyone needs a full "vocational assessment" , but for clients who do need it, vocational assessment can be "transformative" and highly empowering.
So, who would benefit from a vocational assessment? You might be someone:
  • making important and critical decisions about where/how to start your career, but just aren't sure where to focus your attentions or what to study/train for;
  • considering undertaking a significant change of direction in your career but would like to be more confident about the investment of time, money and effort it might take to achieve this;
  • who isn't sure they are currently in the right job for you, but you may want to stay with the same employer if you can;
  • (anyone) who wants to understand themselves, your preferences and motivators in the world-of-work
A good vocational assessment will always be tailored to your specific needs but will explore and aim to enhance your self awareness in regard to issues such as:
  • interests within the world-of-work
  • strengths, abilities and skills
  • learning styles
  • personality and communication style
  • the type of work environment and/or team you are more likely to thrive and be your best in
  • values (the rewards and "satisfiers" you need met for a meaningful and resilient work life)
Important note: Vocational assessment forms part of the career counselling or career coaching consultation process.
I use tailored and effective, tried and trusted vocational assessment tools that will be selected to suit your individual needs.
Following the completion of the vocational assessment activities, you will receive a summary, and we will work together in consultation to explore and develop a plan of action and to clarify achievable options that suit you in regard to education, training and career options.
